India-China clash and wars

The war game of China at Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh is nothing but an attempt to divert focus of the world from Coronavirus. That is apparently Wuhan-lab-made virus infecting more than 12 millions and taken over half a million lives worldwide so far.

However, having disputes with all the nations that it shares borders with, China has created conflicts with India in several states over the decades. In the recent years, at least three confrontations have occurred between the troops of two countries at LAC in Ladakh. In 2017, troops of both the countries pelted stones on each other near Pangong Tso. Then in 2019, both the forces confronted on northern bank of Pangong Lake.

India-China clash and wars

The current 2020 face-off between Indian Army and People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China, initiated in Galwan Valley in May, appeared to be more violent in June. A total of 20 Indian soldiers and over 40 PLA soldiers lost their lives in the clash, as per reports. Unlike India, China neither gave national honor of martyrdom to its soldiers nor did it officially announce the number of its soldiers killed in the standoff.

The two countries have fought only one major war so far and that was in 1962 war itself. Among other major clashes, the most prominent was Nathu La and Cho La Clash or India-China War of 1967. This is only major clash between the two countries after the 1962 war. And India won 1967 clash, giving China the first lesson after 1962 defeat.

Eastern part of Ladakh, area of former larger Kashmir, has been administered by China as Aksai Chin since 1962 war. India lost lost the 1962 Sino-China War and also lost the region to the communist nation. In years so far, China has kept clashing with India over border disputes also in south-eastern states of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

China’s baseless border claims

In May this year, soldiers of both the countries exchanged physical blows in Nathu La sector at the Sikkim border. This happened when Chinese troop entered in Indian areas. Earlier in 2017, an standoff occurred near Sikkim border between the soldiers of two countries. PLA had to step back from its position without initiating construction of road in Doklam, a disputed area in Bhutan.

However, last four decades never saw a bullet firing in clashes at LAC, as reported by forces of both sides. China has another baseless claim that major portion of Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh is a territory of South Tibet. The region is an integral part of Indian territory, and administered by India only.

Before Galwan Valley clash, the last clash with China, in which Indian soldiers had to lost their lives, occurred at Tulung La in Arunachal Pradesh in 1975. Chinese forces entered into Indian territory and ambushed an Assam Riffle patrol and also fired at them, killing four of the soldiers.

China and Pakistan ties

Over the decades, China has played a third party role in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) conflict as an ally of Pakistan. It supported Islamabad in various ways, including weapons and equipment availability to its terrorists and armed forces. So that, they can carry on their terror activities against India around Line of Control (LoC). It also supports the country, notorious for producing terror, at diplomatic level on all the international platforms.

But now China’s cruel games are over as the entire world is against the communist nation over its Coronavirus deed. China cannot afford a war with India with its worse economic conditions after Covid 19 outbreak. It cannot think of buying for better war equipment and weapons from super power nations as nobody will support Beijing. It’s PLA soldiers are novice and have not fought any war in the last 40 years.

Unlike in 1962, India’s position is much more favorable with huge support from super power nations. Also, its forces are well equipped, trained and ready to give China the most deserving answer if it misbehaves on borders by any chance.
