My only competitor is myself
I have a goal. I have to run. Track is mine. Race is mine. I have to achieve my goal. I have to break the records, my own past records. But I have no time to check my competitor’s progress. And I even don’t know who my competitor is. When you are running on the track, your mind, eyes and body are targeting the goal that you have to achieve before anybody else touches it.
You don’t know who else is there. You just know that you have to achieve your goal. That’s it. When your full concentration in on your goal, you don’t even have a competitor indeed. You don’t need any competitor but you. Yes. You are your only competition. You have to keep doing better than you did in your past.
I am my only competitor
When you put your all energy and efforts to achieve some target – whether in studies, sports, jobs, business or any other walk of life – just forget about who is in competition with you. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that what you want to achieve. Even matters what you have achieved in the past.
Your competition is with yourself, not with others. If you want to do an analysis or comparison, take consideration of your past, present and future records and achievements. That is because you are your only competition. Further, you are the best competitor of yourself. By this analysis and comparison, you will be able to give your best in your every next goal.
Don’t focus on others
On the other hand, considering others as your competitors and giving them importance in your analysis and comparison can help put less weightage to your own goal. Sometimes, even you will find yourself being less important in the race of your own goal.
So, when you are on the track, always remember that there is no one in the race other than you. Furthermore, I will run on my track, follow my goal, break my previous records and win my own race. Nobody can defeat me, nobody can steal my focus on my goal because I am the only competitor of myself.
