Inequality and disparity during corona
The biggest disease the world is suffering from is not due to a virus because the coronavirus is just an outcome of a bigger virus. This bigger virus is sickening and corrupting human minds with a more dangerous disease i.e. power hunger. This lethal disease affects drastically mental heath of humans and makes them wild with obsession of being super power of the universe.
They were not humans in China but a bunch of power hungry minds, which created this coronavirus to shatter the world in a few months. And the impacts are so dire that the world won’t be able to come out of it in decades. The Covid 19 pandemic has infected over 17 million people worldwide, causing 0.7 million deaths so far and counting.
Power hungry minds are threats to humanity
A few corrupt minds of one country made millions lose livelihoods, left millions starving, and caused millions of hunger deaths. But the most vulnerable, who were already in the grip of disparity, conflict and climate change, have suffered the most. And why are they called the most vulnerable? Because the bigger disease ,i.e. power hunger, never allowed them to come out of their vulnerability.
A communist government of one country has gone so mad in its drive to be most powerful in the world that it has made this biological weapon in Wuhan lab to destroy the humanity. It also has pushed the world on the edge of a world-war with its expansionist activities at the land and sea belonging to it’s neighbors.
Only a few people want to own all the wealth and power of the world. Not more than 26 people of this world possess as much as wealth held by half of the total population. Wealth, power, race, cast, creed, religion and disability are the determining factors of which kind of life who will live. There is a vast and constantly deepening chasm of disparity among the people of the world.
Inequality and disparity during and after corona
The Covid 19 outbreak has turned these global inequalities into their worst and they are most visible today. This has made reaching the world its breaking point, says United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The issue of inequality defines our time and is capable of destroying the world economies and societies, he says.
Biggest institutions are the starting point of disparity and a new model under global governance can eradicate it, he says. We can assure fair amount of wealth, opportunity and power to people of world only by global governance, adds Guterres.
This inequality has a close connection with economic instability, corruption, financial issues, rising crimes and bad physical and mental health, he suggests. Coronavirus pandemic is contributing to highlight level of increase in inequality, Guterres says. It has made us realize that all of us are not on the same boat, he added.
Power hunger and wealth accumulation: Reality check
Here is a reality check amid the deadly coronavirus pandemic. The virus is likely to present more dire economic impacts than its health impacts on the world. A few people are trying to hoard all the wealth of the world. However, a large number of other humans are living an awful life in extreme poverty.
A good portion of food is thrown after rich are done with eating. On the other hand a few thousands of their poor counterparts are dying of hunger every month. They are using technology to make rain or remove clouds as they want. And a number of vulnerable humans cannot help but live amid extreme weather, climate change and natural calamities.
A part of civilization is so blind in stockpiling wealth that they have forgotten that they have got same human-rights as their poor counterparts. And they have also forgotten that what they are stocking up is not their own in the first place. The wealth belongs to humanity. And power hungry people must have social and moral responsibilities to share it all with the society.
Global governance can play a prominent role to alert corporates, governments, media, social sector and other stakeholders in most of the countries on growing disparity and inequality during Covid 19 pandemic. This trying time is an opportunity for the world to put more efforts in their race towards the goal of bringing equality and discouraging disparity among its people.
