China must leave Aksai Chin

China can count final days of illegal control over Ladakh’s land, which it claims to be its own Aksai Chin. It is quite obvious that China is playing hide and seek on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with India. The country is doing this only to divert the focus of the world from Wuhan-lab-made Coronavirus. The pandemic has so far claimed over half a million lives and infected more than 12 million people worldwide.

Apart from battleground, the country’s shrewd game with India continues also on the table. As it keeps creating scenes of diplomatic talks without moving towards a conclusion. It’s nothing new for China to create fake issues only to divert mind of the world from the real problems. The country is master in that since ages. Having disputes with all countries it shares borders with, China’s history of border conflicts with India dates back to 1950s.

China must leave Aksai Chin

Aksai Chin, the land of dispute between the two countries, has been the eastern portion of the former larger Kashmir since centuries. It was shown as a Ladakh territory even in 19th century British-era map. However in 1951, China started building a 1,200 km road, connecting Xinjiang to Tibet. The roads 179 km length crossed though Indian region of Ladakh, with construction completing in 1957. Due to the area’s easy accessibility to Chinese and not to Indians, India could know about the road not before 1958 when China published the road in its map.

Like today, several rounds of talk between the two big Asian nations, came to no conclusion. This finally resulted in the 1962 Sino-India war. As India lost the war, the disputed land slipped from it to the communist nation. Since then, the area is being administered by China, and called Askai Chin, as part of Xinjiang and Tibet autonomous region. Also China has made it a strategy to construct roads around the rivers near border areas along with neighboring countries, and claim their lands as part of it’s own territory.

Inch-by-inch land grabbing policy

Over the years, China continued with its inch-by-inch land grabbing policies with each of its neighbors. In 2006, Google Earth satellite imaginary service revealed a terrain model built by the country in eastern part of Askai Chin to use it for military training and simulation purposes. In 2013, the resurfacing taken up of the highway, that crosses Ladakh land for the first time 50 years after its making. Now in recent years, there have been several clashes between Indian Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers at different points in Ladakh, including Pangong Tso, Pangong Lake area and Galwan Valley.

However, China knows it very well that it cannot afford a war with India in the current circumstances. The country’s economic condition is vulnerable since Coronavirus outbreak. It’s PLA soldiers are novice and haven’t fought any war in the last 40 years. It has no diplomatic support from the world so that it can buy better equipment and weapons for the war. The entire world is against the communist country in times of Covid pandemic, forced by it on the world.

Hard nut for China to retain Aksai Chin

On the other hand, all the minuses for Beijing are now the pluses for New Delhi. The situation that was quite unfavorable in 1962 India-China War is now totally opposite. Now India is having the support from super powers of the world against the Corona-accused. Also Indian armed forces, which have not seen defeat since 1962, are very well-equipped and trained. They are ready to give a suitable reply to China’s any misconduct.

China’s hide and seek on border and drama on table can meet a soon end now. It’s time the communist nation stops it’s fake border claims and conspiracies with neighboring countries. The future is nearing it will have to leave the Aksai Chin and accept that it is a region of Ladakh in India.
