Well, ice cream is one of the most appealing cool treat for hot days. In piercing hot summer, people of Varanasi prefer a diet which gives them the coolest feeling. There may be a number of options available in this traditional city, like lassi, thandai, sharbat and kulfi.
All these local desserts have their own unique place in the heart of people. However, popularity of ice cream is no where less among people. Big and small ice cream parlors of the city are smiling to get a crowd of customers in summer season. Not only are ice cream corners around the streets and lanes but also the parlors opened in the big malls get good footfall of ice cream lovers.
Ice cream lovers in Varanasi
Despite an assortment of ice-cream flavors available in the market, some of them are most popular all-time favorite of the market. “Strawberry, vanilla butterscotch and chocolate bars are the most preferable flavors among the ice cream loving youth of the city. However, a big variety of flavors in a range prices is available in the market right now,” says Pawan Kumar, an ice cream parlor owner.
There is no dearth of thirst-quenching options in summer season. Cold coffee, fruit juice and milk shake corners are also available everywhere in the streets and malls of the city. But they don’t find themselves fit to compete with the ice cream mania these days. These drinks give a close completion to popular cold drinks available in the market. But they are not an alternative for ice-cream.
Get together with ice cream
“In summer times, people find it better to have a get together with their friends and family members in an ice cream parlor. And having cups of ice creams in their hands. For a number of youngsters, none of other desserts is better than ice cream,” says Harpreet Singh, an ice-cream lover.
There may be a number of sweet dishes available in the city like Banaras. Also, there are a range of sweet glasses are there to quench your thirst. But ice cream is not an option as it has its own place among foods, and also in hearts of people. So, no other cooling option is so hot to entice the city dwellers then ice creams. Let’s take a bite of it to be chill amid the hot waves of summer.
