Delhi to Agra Tour
Not just once or twice, I have traveled to Agra a few more times, of which two were official tours, both in 2013. Every time, experience in this city has been an awesome one. Historical significance of Agra makes your visit in the city more delighting. As I have mentioned in other blogpost about my official Buddhist Circuit Tour by Mahavarinirvan Express special train in January.
During the eight-day journey, only last day we were not at a Buddhist spot but in Agra. The city of Taj Mahal was part this itinerary to give tourists an experience of a wonder of the world on the final day of their travel before they depart at Delhi. As we reached Agra station, the buses took us to the most important tourist spot in the city – Taj Mahal.

No need to mention, how wonderful the sight had appeared to be. We found ourselves just in front of the marble’s marvel. For a few seconds, it’s like you are lost in the view when you see the Taj at first. Again and again, when you see it from front, back, left and right, every times you never miss from engrossing in its wonder.
After having a never-enough experience of looking at the Taj again and again, we had a snapping session. A professional photographer among us made this happened by clicking us with different angles of his lens. And then was time to bid good bye to the marvelous architecture. We had to head towards the train that would complete its journey. Our special tour in Delhi would come to an end in a few hours.
Just a few months had gone and I was ready again for another experience of Agra city in April. This time by bus from Delhi, this tour was also an official one. Our team was going to take account of preparation at the venue of a mega annual event, slated in few months. I was in the team of organizers of that big annual event, thus I was also on the way to the city.
Agra tourist spots
However, this time there was no visit to any Agra tourist spot. As we reached the city, we got busy in our work at the five star venue. In between, we had our lunch at the same hotel, and then it was time to head back to Delhi. My return journey, by car of the event organizer, gave me more close view of the roads between Agra and Delhi.
Even after these two official tours in the city of wonder, I did not have an opportunity to see many important Agra spots other than the Taj. That time I had no idea when I would travel back the city again and see all the important Agra destinations. However a few years later, I would travel to the city with friends. And I would film all the important destinations through my own lens.
Other then the most famous Agra attraction – Taj Mahal, your must visit spots in the city are – Agra Fort. You must visit Mehtab Bagh to view the Taj from the back gardens. Also, do make a visit to Itmad-ud-Daula or Baby Taj and Akbar’s Tomb at Sikandra. You can cover all these Agra spots even in one day of visit to the city. However, it’s easy only if you reach in the morning for not leaving the city until evening.

If you reach Agra for two-day visit, there is no reason for not travel to Fatehpur Sikri. This place is a not-to-miss due to a number of Fatehpur Sikri attractions, including Buland Darwaza. Other attractions are King’s Gate, Queen’s Palace, Diwaan-i-Khas, Mariam-uz-Zamani, Anup Takao and a view of Fatehpur Sikri Palace and around.
So, there is a lot to see and experience in and around Agra city. If you think of Uttar Pradesh travel destinations, Agra is one of the most important tourist places in UP. It is one of the most popular tourist places in India. Make time for Agra attractions, and have wonderful moments in the city of one of the seven wonders of the world.
