Life is a very broad topic. If you call life the widest and most complex subject on earth, it will not be an exaggeration. In many cases, you cannot discuss life in one go, but divide it in various areas. One of these areas of life is career. For many people, career is most important area of life. For others, a career is life. However, many humans know that a career is just a small part of the big term life. And a beautiful life is still possible without a career itself.
A career is not life
Still in this competitive world that is being complicate every other day, we don’t ignore a career totally. So, if anyway, career owns importance in your life, you must know a few indicators that can tell you where you stand in your career. Further, being clear about this, you will also come to know where your career stands in your life. Let’s take the term career for any damn occupation you are doing in the world. Whether you are in a business, profession or service, it’s your career.
What you want to be?
First of all, you must know that what do you want to achieve from your work? And how much time have you set to achieve your goals – 10 years, 20 years or 30 years? Is it just money you need to earn your for bread and butter or you want to be millionaire or billionaire in coming time? If money is not everything, are you seeking name, fame, recognition, status and power? Today, you must have a clear point of view on these questions as you are seeing yourself at certain place in years to come.
Know how you are moving
Next, you must know that when and from where you did start towards your career goal. Furthermore, where are you standing now and where are you set to go in certain timeline? What have you invested in terms of time, efforts and money in your goal? Still, what investments are needed, and how are you going to manage it? In other words, you must check what have you done for your career goal so far and what sort of things are still remaining?
Have a clear vision of career goals
It can be easier to have a clear vision on your career goals if you jot down every above detail in black and white. Write your career dreams, ambitions, past targets, current status and future plans on paper or computer file, and have a comprehensible look. Career may not be everything in life but your goals are important. You must have a clear vision about where you were, are and will be regarding your career plans in life.
