An evening with Gulzar
It turns out to be an awesome feeling when after so many days which you have spent as routine lifestyle. You come across a moment that was all set to provide you with some new gusto. Similar kind of feeling I came across this day mid this month, a day that was set to be a well-spent one.
Reached office late and then got ready to visit the new headquarter that is under-construction. The visit intended to inquiring the progress at the site. Finally arrived there and saw ‘Work in Progress’ and ‘Men/Women at Work’. I inquired what was worth inquiring from the concerned persons and took work report from them.
Also, I clicked some pictures of the site from different angles for record. Then, moved back to the office and finished the regular work. As I spent a few hours in the office, it was time to leave for the day. A little hectic day in comparison to a regular day spent in office only.
An evening with Gulzar
Now, I was ready for a wonderful time with a friend as we had the plans to spend an evening with my favorite Gulzar. Spring Fever 2013 was organized by Penguin India at Amphitheater of India Habitat Centre in Delhi. And this evening would be Gulzar’s evening, named as ‘Mera Kuchh Saamaan’. The veteran would read out ‘Half a Rupee’, his new collection of stories.
Grey hair, expressive face, talking eyes with loads of experiences of life, good height making the personality more prominent and white Kurta-Paijama making it more sober. That’s Gulzar… It was a great moment to be there and listen to him live, and to listen to his stories, poems and experiences from the legend only.
Legend read out his stories
Gulzar read out some of the stories from his new book in his own familiar style then wound up the event with saying some of his Nazms. Again what a experience to hear the legend’s writings from him, face to face. Then was the time for viewers to ask questions from the maestro. Some interesting and weird questions came from all the sides. The man made the evening more interesting with his witty and genius replies to their queries.
And as he completed the session, it was time to get back home. I am still relishing that memorable evening with Gulzar after having a regular but hectic day.
